Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Zenshin is designed so that your data stays yours. This policy explains what the app accesses and what happens to it.

What Zenshin accesses

With your permission, Zenshin reads health and workout data from Apple Health, including heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, and workouts such as running, walking, hiking, and cycling. If you enable workout writing, Zenshin can save completed strength workouts to Apple Health. Zenshin also stores the exercise plans, sets, reps, weights, notes, and personal records you log in the app.

How that data is used

This data is used solely to provide Zenshin's features, including daily training readiness, estimated training-load trends, workout adjustments, deload suggestions, workout history, and progress tracking. Processing happens on your device.

What leaves your device

Zenshin does not collect, sell, or share your personal or health data. There are no analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, developer-operated data servers, or Zenshin user accounts. HealthKit data and derived recovery records — including readiness snapshots, personal baselines, cardio-derived load entries, and deload guidance — are processed and stored on-device and are not included in Zenshin's iCloud sync.

HealthKit

Zenshin uses Apple's HealthKit framework only after you grant permission. Data obtained through HealthKit is never used for advertising or marketing, is never shared with third parties, and is not uploaded by Zenshin. If workout writing is enabled, completed strength workouts are saved directly to your Apple Health store under Apple's controls.

iCloud sync

Exercise plans and workout history may sync through your private Apple iCloud account so they are available on your devices. This sync is handled by Apple's CloudKit service, governed by Apple's privacy terms, and is not accessible to the developer. Health-derived recovery records are stored in a separate local-only store and are excluded from this sync.

Exports, feedback, and diagnostics

Zenshin can create a CSV export of your workout history and a diagnostic summary containing the app version, iOS version, device family, and locale. The diagnostic summary contains no workout or Health data. These items leave the app only when you explicitly choose a destination using Apple's share or mail interface.

Purchases

Zenshin uses Apple's StoreKit framework to process the optional, one-time Zenshin Lifetime purchase and restore access to paid features. It is not a subscription. Purchase processing is handled by Apple. Zenshin does not receive your payment card details.

Data deletion and control

Because Zenshin does not store your data on developer-operated servers, deleting the app removes its local app data from that device. Plans and workout history previously synced through iCloud may remain in your private iCloud storage and can return after reinstalling. Workouts written to Apple Health remain there until you remove them in Apple Health. You can revoke Zenshin's Health access at any time in Settings under Privacy & Security → Health and manage app data through Apple's iCloud storage controls.

Children's privacy

Zenshin is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy
